My 71 Maverick use to be auto and column shift. Someone converted it to manual on the floor and I have a standard floor shift steeing column for it now. I got a new turn signal switch for a 71 to put in it and when I went to switch it the one in the column had an extra wire in it. It's a black wire that runs from the electrical plug to the key switch, what gives? Can I just put the black wire in the new switch and be okay?
