I have a 1977 Maverick. I got in it today and turned the key to start it and nothing happened. No starting, no turning over and no electronics came on. Is this a starter issue? A solenoid issue? Battery?
most likely a battery problem. lots of things could have caused this. for example, the lights were left on, the alternator diodes failed and drained the battery, the battery it self is bad, a bad battery cable, and the list can go on. first step is to see if the battery has power. a volt meter is needed to do this. if it has no power , then it needs to be charged up or replaced. the car then needs to be checked to see if something on the car drained the battery or if the battery was just bad.
me too i had installed a t5 but the neutral safety switch was still working, took me forever to figure it out
but can it possibly be your ignition switch? i know mine and plenty of other of these cars have a bit sensitive ignition switches
