They are called valance panels and you'll have to find them used. Nice ones are getting more expensive by the minute. I have sold them for as much as $150 each for nice ones.
Fiberglass? They make fiberglass ones pretty cheap. I think about 50 bucks for the rear in 'glass. www.up22.com for some mav parts even Grabber stuff. Never used them but looks like a pretty good size co. Hope that helps.
Unlimited products nearly killed my best friend one night last week. He has one of their hoods on his '66 Chevelle and while driving down the freeway at 65-70mph the other night every last one of the molded in threaded inserts pulled out of his hood sending it up into his roof. somehow his windshield didn't get broken but it put a crease in his roof not to mention the need a new pair of shorts factor. if you get one of their hoods, use pins as a back up to your latch.
there's a fiberglass one for a 73 on ebay right now. lasts for 2days and 11 hours from now. not sure what years fit what. but i'm sure there is a different one for the earlier mavs, starts at $49 and there's no bids on it yet.
UP has the front valance too. 79 front 49 rear Edit: They have the 3 pc ducktail and the rock guard behind the bumper.
rear valances Im looking for a rust free and straight rear valance also. Metal only to fit a 72 Maverick. Anyone got 1. Thks Ron
Actually they are not according to Nick but it dont make a difference and once installed you cant see it.
Yes, the 1970-72 rear valances are different from the 1973. The 1973 outside ends on top are tapered at about a 45 degree angle to clear the lower quarter panel extentions. Also the 1970-72 rear valances last screw hole toward the outside of the car is located further outward from the center of the car than the 1973 valance. To interchange years you will have to drill two holes in the rear trunk panel. If you have a 1970-72 grabber and want to put a 1973 rear valance on it the taper will cause the blacked out section to show up where the taper is. The actual size and shape are the same.
