I am restoring a 1970 6 cylinder Maverick and I am in need of new upholstery for my split bench seat and rear seat. Does anyone know if I can find this or am I going to have to find a good upholsterer to match it the best he can. I have found a headliner, but also may need door panels. Any help is appreciated.

Well, no seat upholstery is available. Looks like I'll be shopping around for upholsterers to rob me of my money. I was hoping to do it myself and save some money.

At least the important stuff is still available.

No way we'll see any door panels or upholstery sets from anyone for quite some time, if ever. I have checked on door panels in the past. They can be done, but they will only do a run of 100 pairs in one color. Even in black it would never fly. No one should expect such repos even in the distant future.

By that time there may not even be any Mavericks left to restore :(

With the high prices for scrap metal a lot of the cool old cars are heading to the recyclers and getting crushed. It's really a shame too.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly yesterday, Chuck. I'm sure I will be talking to you shortly for some parts. I am just now getting somewhere with my wifes Opel and when thats done I will be hard at work on the Maverick for me. These are going to be our daily drivers

I have the patterns for 71/72 highback buckets and 73/74 highback buckets and rear seats. I make the covers in several original colors and grains. I have met with a major seat cover manufacturer who has agreed to produce them. They have all the colors in the origianal grains. I have checked a variety of methods to reproduce the buttons for the 71/72 seats but haven't decided on the best one yet.
I can also make any other Maverick cover if supplied with an original. Most of the original vinyls and fabrics are still avaiable NOS or as reproductions.

Fred, what about the "super soft" [Ford's name] vinyl used in the LDO cars? Is it still available NOS or does anybody repop it?

Sounds good. Later on I want to redo my front and back LDO seats in the original tan. Next is bodywork and paint!
