Okay i heard somebody hear could make upholstery kits for mavericks? Does he have them for bucket seats? And whats his name?

Also if you buy a upholstery kit can you sew them on your self or do you still need a professional? Are they worth it?

If Fred (fmc56) has the patterns, he can make you a set. You will need a set of hog ring pliers and some rings. I am sure he will give you installation tips.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
By the end of this year i'm planning to start making seat covers for the factory bench and buckets seats, also for the popular swaps like the probe and escort seats. My mom is a retired seamstress and she has all these HD sewing machines she doesn't use any more, and i'm taking a class for auto upholstery. I want to make some for the members on here that don't want a concourse car they just want something that looks good and wont cost a fortune. =)

fmc56 does a nice job on his upholstery from what I have seen.
You can always find someone who will do a job cheaper than the
last guy. Quality is something that you pay for.

Some people have been very happy with the reproduction covers sold for Mustangs. Check the Mustang parts houses for those. '71-'73 Mustang high back buckets are the same seat frame and pad as '71/'72 Maverick/Comet. They are not the same upholstery, but they work and look good.

Check E-bay. I have a set of Mustang buckets saved for the '69 1/2 Maverick. I picked up a set of reproduction '69/'70 high back Mach I/Shelby seat covers in light metallic blue for them on E-bay for $150. Supposedly a returned special order color. That included rear seat covers that I'll have to adjust to work. But, they were cheap.
