Iam putting a '71 Turino 302 into my I6 maverick so iam going to need some V8 frame mounts. Are maverick frame mounts the only ones that will work? Finding Maverick parts has become a "task" at the least, especially a v8 one. I may be able to get the mounts out of a 64ish fairlane if they work too
There are some Stang, Cougar, and Falcon frame stands that will swap in. From about 65 1/2 to 70. They don't look exactly like the Mav stands, but they are the same in function. The very early stuff like the Fairlane you are mentioning, use iron frame stands and 2 piece mounts. They will work too, but they either raise or lower the engine in a Mav... Forgot which. You will not only need the frame stands, but all the mount and isolator parts to do this conversion. The steel frame stands that came out in mid-65 fit like I said, but you still need to use the Maverick mounts with them, the one piece mounts for Stangs are set up for a wider subframe. You can still get the Mav mounts at any parts house though. Good luck Dave
Crites has repop frame mounts for $99. The rubber engine mounts can be obtained through your local parts store. www.critesrestoration.com
