How long is it from the part that bolts to the firewall end to where it connects to the carb? It looks like a 6 cylinder cable, just shorter, right?

I moved this one to technical.........

Jamie it is much shorter then the six cylinder. I would guess from the fire wall 12 to 18 inches if memory serves.:)

Opps, I thought I was in Technical. My bad.

I ask because I ran down to Pull A Part this morning and saw a '77 F150 with a 300 6 cylinder. I looked under the hood and it's got a throttle cable just like the 6 cylinder Mav cable but it is shorter. I'll measure it later when I find a tape meaure. Just wondering if I happend upon an alternative vehical to get V8 cables from. :)

It's in good shape so I went ahead and bought it for a whopping 3 bucks. :) It is to short to fit on my Mav with the 250.

not all mavericks are the same on the peddle ends but both of them will work it you have the peddle to go with the cable

Well this one will definately work on my with my '74 pedal. I was just wondering how close to an actuall V8 cable it is.

Thanks Dan. This cable measures 19 1/2 inches. Looks like it should work pretty good then if I don't try to put EFI on. If I do get that Lincoln and install EFI, a cable from a 88 or so T-bird with a 302 looks like it would work. In fact, maybe I should have got that cable to for 3 bucks... :)

I will be around christmas. :) Right now I have two 302's within grasp. If I put the first one in then I will put a carb on it and probably have the original numbers matching C4 from my car rebuilt. If I get the second one, it will go in with the EFI and AOD transmission. If I take the later route, then the first 302 will end up in my '71 F250.
