The 69/70 Mustang looks as if it gave the 70/73 mavericks it's front valance. Is this true or am I hallucinating?

There are folks on this board using the rear valance of that Stang.
They say it is a very good fit.
    Don't know about the front.
I do know that it is not exactly the same as ours. Especially when you consider that the 70-72 and 73 valances aren't even the same.
Suppose it could be wider, but that is what folks said about the rear.
Also, buddy of mine put an entire Stang front clip on his Maverick... Fit perfectly 'width-wise'.

Can't figure out whether it is a better Mustang, or an ugly Maverick?????????? Just different, I guess!

I don't suppose someone could grab measurements between the 69/70 mustang and the 70/72 maverick?

    I've had a few
Everytime I see this pic, it makes me think twice about junking my 4 door. I keep thinking about that thread from a while back with the black 4 door with a chopped top and then slapping a Mustang front end on it, Shelby tail lights. Would seriously freak some people out. :)

I'll take a few measurements tomorrow. I've put an old 69 front up against my 72's fenders... and I could make it fit, but its got more of a point than the mav's does.

Thanks, I appreciate it, considering I don't have a 69 valance lying around.

I want to see if everything is the valance is completely interchangable, so as to see if the frame supports and holes on the underside work all the same w/o modification

OK: 69 Mustang is 4 inches wider than 72 Mav. It looks to me that if you were to section a 70 mustang valance 2 inches on both sides it would be close enough that no one would be able to tell. If I can get the camera to work I'll post a pic or two shortly.

Edit: the maverick valance is more square as viewed from the top, there may be some fitment issues with the maverick fenders if using the mustang valance.

And the holes underneath, how do they differ?

sorry I'm moving kinda slow tonite. My comp absolutly refuses to upload pics, but I layed out the mav/ mustang valances over a piece of cardboard and marked the mounting points, more differace than I thought. The mav. has 3 mounting holes on the sides, mustang has 2 and one on the front to attach to the headlight buckets (which is allways broken). they also taper in toward the front as opposed to the mav being straight. as far as the bottom bolts, they look to be the same(with in 1/4 inch).
In my opinion the 69-70 mustang valance could be made to work, but not feasible.
