Today is November 11. It is also Veterans Day. I just want to wish all of us that served our country, and all whose family members who served, and all who honor the service of our armed services, a happy Veterans Day. It seems that this is the one holiday that the school systems and local governments have forgotton, or chosen to forget. Schools are in session today, and businesses are open as usual. I may be dating myself, but when I was in school, Veterans Day was a holiday, and there were parades and a real sense of pride at being an American. I just hope that that feeling of pride is not dwindling to the point where we forget the people that got us here. HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL!
Earl well said, being a veteran myself I also feel that this day has been forgotton. My son is joining the Navy in the near futher.. A big thanks to all the Vets who stood up and risk it all for our country...God Bless Our Vets and God Bless Our Great Nation...Jim HAPPY VETERANS DAY
I didn't forget, I just don't keep track of the date. armistice was called on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month WWI, correct? God bless all our fallen heros, past and present servicemen and women, without them, we wouldn't have this great nation
If you're reading this, thank a Veteran for the freedom to do so. (pictorial presentaion below to "We Support You") http://www.forest.ws/WeSupportU.htm http://www.kather.org/HomeSecure/WeSupportU.htm http://www.ch47.org/WeSupportU.htm

A many of thanks from me to our vets, especially combat vets. I was in the Navy but it was pretty much gravy compared to what these guys go through.
Veterans never get all the Thanks they deserve but I for one appreciate each and every ones sacrifices no matter when they served. Happy Veterans Day Tim
I drove 500 miles around the state of Illinois today, every school was closed. Banks too. I was glad to see it. Thank god for our veterans! Dan
