Does anyone know where I can get my vin de coded ? And should my 74 ldo have a build sheet somewhere (Canada car) .
We have/had a member, Jeff Staples, who made this vin decoder program 5 or 6 years ago that I happen to still have on my hard drive.
Finding Maverick build sheets doesn't seem to be very common... I'd think Kansas City would have placed them in the front seat springs(generally cut to ribbons from seat flexing)... This is where they were in Torinos built there just prior to Maverick production... Not that it necessary applies but but I've seen build sheets from Oakville ON under door panels, Atlanta generally stuck them in rear seat springs and Lorain OH were almost always under carpet...
My Grabber is from Kansas City and I did find the build sheet in the springs of the front bench seat about a year ago when I pulled it out to put in buckets. Unfortunately, it disintegrated at the touch of a human hand.
I bought 2 front bucket seats off of a gentleman that had a 72 grabber, the build sheet was between the springs and the cushion of the passenger side seat. He took/kept it.
Mine is a 71 Kansas-built car, and my build sheet was under the driver's side of the front bench seat.
Well I knew there wasn't one for my '72 but this thread got me thinking about the '71 GT... Nope nuthin under front seats, and no sheet under rear bottom(didn't check back)... But there was some pencils, a 1988 Bradlees dept store receipt and key for room 20 at the Miami Motel in Oxford OH... Wonder if they still guarantee postage?? Wonder if they still use keys?? Wonder if they are still in business?? (yeah that's easy enough to check)
I live a little more than an hour from there. I go through there about once a year....so I will try to remember and check.
