Hello....:) been off the site for some time so possibly this was already addressed but allow me to ask :Handshake. I have a 77 Mav, LDO. It has the "white" vinyl top and the side moldings have the vinyl inserts. All are in good shape, not is no rips but they are somewhat faded-stained.

I can live with it  but would like to make them look better :thumbs2:. So, since they really don't need replaced let me ask for some decisions or suggestions:

    1. Is there and has anyone ever used a Vinyl Paint :hmmm:.

    2. Should I simply have a "New" vinyl top installed , and if so what do I do with the side molding (vinyl inserts).

Look forward to some good guidance.

    Take care.

Vinyl dyes work very well. Not sure how well it will work on a vinyl top, since it is a big area to dye. A new vinyl top will run you about $200-$400 I would say. You can get the material for your vinyl top from SMS Auto Fabrics.

I would dye the side moldings.

Very good, I was thinking of "vinyl paint" vs. "Dye". I have seen the dye and actually used it some time back for some door panels, but I was told there is on the market a "Vinyl Paint", in a spray can that can be used. Again, the top and molding are in great shape, simply some age dirt and stains. Thanks for your reply.

SEM vinyl paint does an excellent job. For less than $50 you'll have your project finished and looking like new.

Great! That is what I wanted to hear. I went and seen I can purchase SEM Vinyl Paint on line but going to see if any body shops carry around here...thanks.
