I contacted a company called RedLine Tuning last week in regards to kits they make to eliminate the need for a hood prop rod.

    Here is an example: http://www.cjponyparts.com/product.asp?pn=HDGL16

    Company's product info: http://www.redlinetuning.com/products_quicklift.html

This is the response I got when I contacted them about Mavericks and Comets as suggested in their FAQ section.

Personally I think their kits are pretty nice and wouldn't mind having one to go with this carbon fiber Grabber hood... but I'm a little far away from Michigan. If there is anyone in the area mentioned that wouldn't mind being a guinea pig I think it's be a neat product to add to the list that supports our cars.

I would be willing to volunteer my car depending on how long they would need it and what exactly they would need to do to it. I am about 50 miles south of Dexter, so it's not that far away. If you want to send me the contact info for the person you spoke to at the company, I could call them for more details.
