I was thinking about trying to build a 200 instead of the same ole small block ford. was checking on the web found some pretty cool struff. plus there is a machinest near me that builds cross flow heads for 200's by cutting up winsor heads was just a thought. thought i would see what ya'll thought:hmmm:

There are some huge advancements in 6cyl. engine building and thinking. It would be nice to see more built up 6's. I guess the issue would be cost over building a v8. Nothing wrong with being different, if you want it do it.

I think it would be fun and different. I plan on doing a rebuild on my 250, and like boss9 said, it's all in how much money you plan on spending. You could easily drop a bundle of cash into it and maybe get as much power as a stock eight. But it would be different and fun to drive, and probably weigh less too. Make sure (if you haven't already) to check out fordsixparts.com and cliffordperformanceshop.com/site04/home.htm. Both are good sites for six parts. Nice I6 forum on fordsixparts, too.

(saw a Falcon in a magazine turning 11 sec quarters with an inline six...)

Check out the new aluminum head under development at www.fordsix.com I am planning to use this head on a 250 build as soon as it is released. Should be released by early summer, I think. Check out the site for more info.

i think if you are going to build a 6 you need to start with the biggest you can. no not the 300, but with a 250. there's a lot of parts for the 250 nowadays. the 11 second falcon is from tucson, az and has a turbo on it. nice car btw. :)

I have been exchanging emails with Mike at FSPP and he told me they are planning to begin dyno testing with a prototype by end of April and hoping to have production heads available sometime early summer. Here is another very interesting tidbit...they will be dyno testing using several different header designs to see which ones produce the most power. Maybe this will help answer the question of long tube versus shorty headers, dual outlet versus single outlet. Mike seems to think that a Maverick with a properly built normally aspirated 250 can easily run 14 second ETs and still be streetable. Depends on how much $$$$ you have. That will definately get the attention of the average V-8 guy when you blow his doors off...lol!!

clifford performance is now selling a 250 long block fuel injected that they say runs over 300 h.p. and over 400 ft lbs of torrque. all this for $5800. i am already making plans to get one for the wifes car. even if the numbers don't reach quite what they advertise it will still be a wicked 6 to surprise alot of folks.
