So I decide since most of my under dash is out that it would be a good time to replace my wiper motor. The old one worked and oem, dated june 1972. I thought, do it now because how much life could it have left. So I took a stab at it! WHAT A PAIN! ONLY way I got it out was with my trust swivel. For those who try this, the clip holding the wiper bars on is unique. It has a locking tongue that bends back over the stud. Just bend the tongue up and pull the clip back then off. Anyway the new motor is in :dancing:! Just need to finish up the wiring and I'm done under the dash. For everyone, I've done a lot on my car I have to say this was the biggest pain in the ass. This coming from a guy who installed a 4r70w. Hmmmm not to scare people the task is not hard, just a pain. Just 4 small bolts, 1 large, 1 clip, radio bolt.

The single most difficult part to change on these cars in my opinion! They obviously built the rest of the car around the wiper motor... :biglaugh:

Congratulations on a successful change out...you're one of a select few who have attempted and succeeded lol...

    We should design a pin to give out...like bowling a 300 game...or picking up a 7 10 split lol...

Only had to remove the clip and 3 bolts holding the motor to the bracket with a gear wrench...not the bracket from the car. I swapped my wiper motor less than 40 minutes from the time I walked outside to I came back in the house plus I stopped to eat a hotdog.

I agree, I had to trim the wiper bracket for my clutch quadrant and just doing that was a PAIN! I removed one from my wrecked Comet to have a spare and almost decided it wasn't worth it. Persistence paid off though. Of course I wanted the bracket too.

Non ac air box? I would have pulled the 3 bolts but there was no room to do so. I think being an a/c air box the blower motor is in a bad spot.

Yes it is. I took out the blower motor housing of both of mine since they were ac equipped.
