I'm in the final stages of the I6 to V8 swap in my 70 Maverick and I installed my newly acquired V8 throttle cable today.

My question is....Do I need to replace the gas pedal assembly also? The V8 throttle cable has an eye at the pedal end and my existing I6 cable attaches to the pedal by slipping into a slot notched into the end of the rod.
I don't see how to attach this V8 cable to my gas pedal rod.:hmmm:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Here are some pics to show the difference. First two are the current setup. The third is the new V8 cable.

There were two different styles, as you can see..

It can be made to work. Heat the end of the pedal and bend the ears at 45 degree angle, then put a small bolt through the hole on the cable. I've done it, works fine.
