Anybody know what Ford calls this color? It is a real nice gunmetal metallic or pewter metallic. This is the only heater panel I've seen with this color. Probably a Comet color.

When I opened the box - I thought for a second of repainting my dash to match it - just because it looks so good. The picture doesn't highlight the metallic very well. In the sun it really sparkles.

My dash is that color. Well, the part below the chrome trim line is. The main part of the dash was painted black by a previous owner. What it's called? I have no idea. But I do know my dash originally came from a '73 if that helps.

Watch ebay tonight - I will be listing a black with A/C control panel - a regular blue and a regular dark red/maroon

Eric; do you have a black without a/c one available? If so, how much?

Hi Earl - I do have at least 1, maybe 2 of the blacks with a D0DZ date code. I sold one last week and the bidding went up to $115 - which makes it very hard for me to price them for sale on the board - as I (like everyone else) need to get what I can for them. I think the market is a little crazy once in a while - but ebay seems the fairest way to decide what the price should be. There will be a non A/C black put on next week.

    Here is an idea:
I have been starting the NOS red colored ones at $40 and a few have sold at that price. If you bought a colored one, these are very easy to paint - just carefully take them apart and paint with Krylon Fusion semi-gloss black - reassemble and touch up the FAN white dots with a paint pen.

    Just an idea.

The part itself is not marked (that I can see) - the box is marked D0DZ-18A651-D
