I have been trying to find info on what colors were offered on the grabbers. Were they any different than the regular Maverick offerings? I have looked on the net some but haven't had much luck. Thanks.

None of those sites or other color charts shows my color. And it is an original Grabber color.

If that is original it would have to have been special ordered .... There are no FOrd paint chips that show that color or any color similar to that being available in 1972 ...

Give us your DSO and that will tell us if it was special order or not.

Special order, while possible, is unlikely.
The sport mirrors give it away.
Ford had the sport mirrors painted totally seperate from the cars and put them on later.
If a special color was ordered on the car, they did not paint the sport mirrors custom.
The customer didn't have a choice in the matter... They either got the standard chrome mirror or black sport mirrors. What ever was convienent when that car came down the line.
That is why there are Mach 1 Mustangs for example, that have one chrome mirror. It throws you off when you see one. The sport mirrors were a staple of the Mach 1 package. So it sticks out like a sore thumb.
This Grabber would have been the same. The chrome mirror was more likely, however black sport mirrors would have been possible if the run of black mirrors was still on the shelf at the time the car came by on the line.

    Gut feeling:
This car is either one of the chip colors, just doesn't look same on the monitor, OR the car was painted by a previous owner.

The end of June is indeed very late in the 72 model year!

Does your car have the 'Fasten Seatbelt' light in the dash?
I have had 4 72 models, and the current one is the only I have had with the light in the dash... However, almost every 72 I see nowadays has the light.
Driving me nuts why 3/4 of my 72s didn't have it, but just about all others do.

My October built 1972 does not have the seat belt light.
