I am planning on getting a new fuel cell for my car. It will be a bracket car with very little street use. My current tank is leaky and rusty. I was thinking of a 5 gallon cell but figured I would get your opinion on it

I am in the process of installing a 15-gallon cell to replace my fuel tank entirely. I got it second-hand, but still new. It was a Summit fuel cell.

i have a jaz 12 gal poly cell which is getting upgraded to a 16 or 20 gal,if you plan on any street use just put like a 8-10 gal in it and when ya race just run enough fuel for the race, that way when ya do alittle street drive'n ya dont have to refuel so often or run out.

Does anyone know of a brand/size fuel cell that fits well, or at least close into the tank opening of a 69.5-70 Maverick?

Preferrably with a mounting flange around it's midline that would at least mate up front/back or side to side to the mounting flange for the tank in the trunk floor

Wonder how much it would cost to have one custom made to fit into the tank hole?

It should work great. I have a 5 gal and really can't get one much bigger as it fits between the roll bar cage in the trunk. It is an "ole Harwood" but will be upgrading to a custom built aluminum one.
You really don't need the foam and if you run racing gas it will slowly eat the foam into pieces which will go through the lines/pump.

That's the one I use from Summit. I second that about taking the foam out. If you don't it will eventually just turn to dust and clog your fuel lines and pump. Don't ask me how I know.:)

pull it out through the fill hole. remove the ring that the cap goes to if its to hard to pull the foam through.

But how do you get at it? I can see it through the fill hole, but I cannot get my hand in there, and it won't "fall" to the top if I turn it over.

small hands or take piece of wire and snatch it. You can take all the bolts out pulling cap assembly off giving more room. BE CAREFULL! bolts sorta hard putting back together and keep all lined up the same
