I'm needing some 302 headers, I see Summit makes some, but it doesn't seem like they fit. I don't want to pay a bunch, I need cheap...Or used!!!
    What are the opinions?

best fit is the 6901 hookers. if you are really into fab work you could get a cheaper set but in my opinion it isn't worth it. in black the hookers aren't much over $100.

e-Bay, got mine for $100. They were used, but barely, and still had the black paint on them. I think he mounted them and found the PS obstruction, and sold them.

Be sure to buy the powersteering drop bracket, if you have powersteering. $15 on JEGS.

6901s, went in so easy that for 140 from autozone, can't go wrong. You buy a set of cheaper headers, beat on them to make them fit, and bend the flange you can't return them and are out the cost of the headers. Not worth messing around, the hookers fit so nice it ain't funny

Good, cheap and headers are three words that don't go together. Pick two.
Hooker 6901's are brobably the best entry level header out there. they are good enough for me anyway.

Word of advice, no matter what header you get.
If it is painted, remove all the paint, clean with mineral spirits, then repaint with good hi-heat paint. BBQ black is what I use. Do not get any oils on the headers after the mineral spirits. Even when you install them, it is best to use clean gloves.
They cannot contact any oils until after they have been heat cycled.
Once they have reached operating temp, then cooled, they are good to go.
The paint that comes on headers from the maker is really cheap and there is no QC for the paint. So it will always burn if you leave it. Then your pipes are quick to rust.

    Right on advice. (y)

I've always just considered the factory black as protective coating while it sits in a box at the warehouse. Another paint that works well is farm implement flat black manifold paint. I think paint manufactures get away with having some good old chemicals in their paint yet if it is for farm duty. the stuff sticks well and lasts too.
