What Shifter For a 5 Speed?

    I am wanting to but a 5 speed Shifter for my T5 in my Mav. Any suggestions on what fits the best and will hold up? There are so many different brands for sale.The car will be a daily driver.

    I have a BM ripper shifter with a Hurst stick works great

    i like pro 5.0 for drag racing and the steeda tri ax for road racing and street. the pro 5.0 seems biased to 1-4 and has a bit of a reach for 5th. the steeda is more centered to 3-4. i think the summit one is just a clone of the steeda and costs substantially less.

    Do you have a console? I am going to use a Granada/Monarch console. Is the ripper a short throw?

    it is just very confusing with the brands of shifters on the market.

    The Summit is made by Steeda? Is it a short throw?

    I have the Steeda with a Hurst flat stick and T-handle. Very nice feel and still looks period correct.

    Thanks much! Do you know if the Summit shifter is made by Steeda? It is quite a bit cheaper.

    Don't know who makes the Summit piece, I found my Steeda on eBay for $120 or so.

    that is the one i was referencing. i really doubt the summit one is made by steeda. i belive its an overseas clone of the steeda design. i like to support usa companies but the price difference is hard to ignore. ive personally use the pro 5.0 on my last 3 cars. ive installed the summit one on customer cars that supplied it. looks and feels the same as the steeda ones ive installed.
