I'm using the Comp Plus in mine and like it. :)

I used a Ford issue Comp Plus in my 75 and now use an aftermarket Street Super in my Sprint.
Fact is that I like them both very much.
You can't really go wrong either way.

    Some things you might consider:
    The Comp Plus...
...has a longer handle and throw between shifts.
...fits stock size/location shifter holes in the floor.
...fits stock style consoles, should you decide to fit one in your Mav.
...longer throw makes it shift easy/smooth.

    The Street Super...
...has very short throws for quick shifts.
...uses a raised mounting position, closer to the driver.
...uses stronger, straighter linkage rods, for durability.
...doesn't fit stock floor opening or consoles.
The tight, short shift throws take a little more muscle and getting used to.
The straight linkage does need some custom tweaking for each application.

The nice thing about both (aftermarket only versions) is that the shift handles swap and Hurst offers a huge variety of replacement handles. You can make your shifter 'look' like any type you want, or make it your own.

Don't get me wrong on the extra install work or tighter shifts of the Super, I love it.
But it was also nice having a Comp that fit the car like they were made for each other.

    Can't go wrong with either.
