I am looking to get a set of tires to go on at set of Ford Factory Slots on a Stock 72 Grabber. Should I go with the 205/70/14 or the 215/70/14. Would both of them fit and have no problems rubbing? - if so - I'll go with the 215.

    Thanks - Dan

205/215 is too skinny, and 70 is too tall.

    would also suggest some 225/60's

    OK

OK - maybe I should rephrase the question.

What is the largest & widest tire I can put on the 14X6 wheels that ensure a good fit on the rim and also fill up the wheel openings without rubbing.

    Thanks - Dan

    Suggestions

Well, what I can suggest is to look maybe at the BF Goodrich for instance, and look at their 14" tire selections. I know that the 225/60 fits well on a 7" rim, but you'll have to see what tire sizes are available for a 6" rim. If you will look at the tread and section width for a 225/60 and use those numbers to compare to a size for the 6" wheel, you'll know how wide you can go. The tire height shold also be mentioned, and you can compare different tire sizes with close widths and height to see what 6" size will look about like mine and fits your wheels. I say like my setup because it fills the wheelwell nicely and does have acceptable width too, about 8".

    Hope this helps.
