i was wondering if the under carpet stuff that comes originally with the mavericks is the best choice or something else

    1. Under carpet stuff (original equipment)
    2. Rhino Liner ( or comparable materials)
    3. Dynomat (or comparable materials)
    4. under carpet foam with aluminum facing on it

let me know what you have all used....i am going to get the floor sound deadened up but i dont want a hell of a lot of weight....

i am sure that all of these things in moderation wont be that heavy

    thanks for any inputs

I have the #4 stuff in mine. It's not actually foam, it's shredded cloth with aluminum/mylar facing. I needed 2 6-foot rolls to do the floor and back seat areas.

i had that in mine....before i changed out the floors.....i was actually thinking of coating the floor with rhino liner or something similar....and then putting the carpet matting down...then carpet on top of that....but carpet comes with the matting on it ...right??

Mine has Rhino Liner on the interior of the floorplans and aluminum
faced foam underlayment that you mentioned. I will say that it
is much more quiet at road speeds than previously. I lined the
wheelwells with the same materials and I cannot hear tire whine
with the windows up. It makes it feel more solid. I also don't get
as much heat transfer around the transmission as before.

I'm about to coat my floor pan with POR-15. I'm not sure how much that will affect noise - we'll see.

I would call them and ask if they have a local dealer. If not ask them if they will ship COD.

when i built mine,i gutted everything inside, down to the last bolt, sandblasted the inner shell, and used rhino liner.as stated above, less heat, noise, and more of a solid feel.shouldn't rust in my lifetime.

You can buy the POR-15 direct. It won't reduce noise, it's just paint. And you have to apply it to bare metal or their special primer. It's tuff stuff, I painted my front suspension pieces with it when I rebuilt the front end last year, still looks like new. I plan on doing the underside of the rear and gas tank with it soon.

sounds good....thats what i was thinking of doing....do you know how much weight it added??

of course i wont be putting it on 1/4 thick like they suggest...just enough to coat the inside of the car.... good base for gluing carpet and stuff to...
