I just checked out a nice Maverick for sale close to home. A 1970 plain car with 20,000 original miles. The car is showroom new with the exception of a small dent in the edge of the hood. Everything is original except the tires, battery and tune up parts. The owner pulled to far into the garage last year! He is asking $3500 for it which seemed a bit high. I passed on a similar one last year with the plaid cloth seats for $3000. Even though rust free cars are not common up here the price seems high for a base model. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks of the price. I have 3 Mavericks already but this is the nicest one I have ever seen. There is another rusted, dented one down the street for $700. Fred
I would think any low mileage original is worth that. Is the guy the original owner? Which engine (170 or 200) does it have? Manual or automatic? What color inside and outside?
you're not going to find too many in that condition, but i would offer $3k and see if he'll come down any.
The car has a 200, automatic and is Grabber Blue. I am going back tomorrow and will bring the camera. I offered him $2500 for it and he told me to stop back. His mother is the original and current owner. She has all the paper work including the original window sticker. Fred
