Looks like windshield weather stripping in the pics...You can get a new one through Melvins classic ford parts...Steel rubber products...Auto krafters and several others. If you are not well versed in glass install, find a glass shop with experience doing old cars...

It's a real good idea to replace the windshield rubber anyway, remember how old it is. They get hard.

I had a windshield replaced a few years ago, it was a tinted windshield. The replacement is also, tinted. Point being, the replacement is much better than the OE in the realm of tint, "much nicer". If you don't have a tinted window it will definitely be an improvement. There will be improvement whatever you have/had now -- just a matter of how much.
At least, that was the case for me.

    Mojo,
That makes sense... the only problem is finding a windshield out here ... I have not started looking so I don't know if glass companies will have them .. I sure do hope they do..

Do they come in more than the regular tint? Mine has a warm almost golden tint to it and when I have to replace it I would love to have the same tint>

The only way to get the brown color is find a used one. Original glass was all made blue and then the blue turned brown over time from UV exposure. Here is a pic of the edge of the glass. You can see the original blue that was protected from the sun by the weatherstrip.
