    Hello,
    I have a '71 Mav with a 200 engine, standard brakes. I'm looking for
    American-made wheel bearings, are any made here?

    a-12 and a-13 bearings from national bearings, dont' know if they are made in us....

    I always had a lot of trust in Timken or BCA bearings but I'm not sure if anything is made in the USA anymore :huh:

    As far as I know, Timken still has USA stamped on the edges of their races.

    I find bearing boxes that are stamped...made in USA...but not the bearings...:slap:

    I don't know about front wheel bearings, but no rear axle bearings for Mavericks are made in USA. Doesn't matter what brand it is. I wouldn't be surprised if the front wheel bearings are no longer made in USA.

    I still see long recognized brand names on many automotive parts boxes but the product inside is not always what you expect anymore - you have to really look

    I went to my local Bearings and Drives store and asked for USA made bearings...I was told...none are made...

    I know there is jap bearings that are awesome. really good bearings for milling machines. etc

    Not for Mavericks/Comets. You're looking at Mexico and China.

    I worked at the Timken Co. for 38 years. I would buy a Timken bearing regardless of where it was made. Bottom line -the headquarters is in Canton, Ohio not overseas.
