Where Are You From? A Forum Suggestion!

    I don't know about others but I post the question: "Where Are you from" so often that I have it sitting on my desk top to cut and paste.

    I just wondered if we could make it mandatory for a user of this forum to post in their information where they are located? I believe it would be really helpful for the newer user to get a little more advice and help from all of us if we knew where they are from by looking at their info.

    Maybe it is just me and that possibly I am getting a little cranky as I get older. If so then just tell me to shut up. :(

    If anyone agrees then please chime in so possibly we can make a change. :clap:

    I suggested that once and got ripped over it. So now if some one is looking for something like advice or parts if there's no location I just ignore it.

    I think both City and State location should be mandatory.

    I think REAL names should be mandatory as well. Too many people hide behind fake names, and then cause problems. Seems on Facebook there is not that problem because one has to use a real name. But hey....maybe that is just me.

    I'm in Deland , Florida for 4 decades now. Some of you out there know me , and I've met a few at the NPD car show held here in Ocala , Florida each January. There are a few of you guys out there that are NEAR my town but
    I've never had occasion to write to any of them. A couple of folks I've sold parts to , and a couple of old members I
    write to often or call. It's no secret .. If someone wants to be incognito it's O.K. with me .

    I don't think its a big deal, if they are active enough in the Maverick/Comet community, you'll eventually figure it out, and maybe even meet them in person one day.

    I think it should be mandatory for a state & county at the very least, but, a city might be optional. . If u live out of continental states - province/territory/city desired. I don't see where all the need of secrecy - no one is asking for an address, SS#, drivers license, etc. Most people who might do you some kind of harm, are from ur immediate surroundings.
