Since the factory Maverick bucket seats are so hard to find or so over priced ( I think $900 is abit much ).. What happens to be the best alternate for bucket seats? I've seen on here before where 99 Camaro seats will work, and I know I can make anything work.. Just looking for ideas on the easiest conversion.. Thanks again..
71-73 Mustang/Cougar seats are the same frame as 71-72 Mav/Comet. Unlike earlier Mustang seats, these frames are not reproduced, but easier to find. Mav seat tracks are tricky to find. I see you have a couple of 75s .... those have the hump in the floor for the catalytic converter. If you keep the floor as is, the seat tracks for the later years are different. The later Mav passenger bucket seat is also made lop-sided, inboard side higher than outboard, so an early seat will need outboard spacer blocks to level them out. If you get Mav bucket seat tracks, many Ford seats are a direct bolt-on, all the way into the 1990s, maybe beyond ... same bolt pattern.
I need to update my info.. I happen to find a 72 in fairly decent shape, and since it's already a small bumper car I decided to build it instead. And put the 75 on the back burner for now..
I used seats out of a '96 Mustang and the tracks from two Maverick bench seats. The tracks needed very little modification and the seats are pretty comfortable too. Now the expensive part, getting them recovered.
The last 69 mustang my Buddy did he used 2008 mustang seats we had to make mounts for them but worked out great, power seats and also retro fitted the rear seats also so it all matches, rear was allitle bit harder though.when I'm on the home computer I'll post a couple pics.
here is some pics of the 2008 mustang seats in a 69 mustang. alittle work and they could be mounted in a mav too.
