Does anybody know where (or if) the seat foam is available for these bucket seats? They came from a Comet, not sure what year (previous owner installed them), and these are NOT the high back style buckets (see pic). I would like to get seat covers for them, but the bottom seat foam is pretty broken down. Did they use these seats in Mustangs (then I know I can get new foam, lol) or other Ford model cars of that era?

    Thanks for any help!

I am not aware of a source for pre-formed seat foam on LDO buckets. You will likely need to make them yourself.

Scooper, did you replace the foam for a LDO bucket seat (didn't see that style on JohnsMustang site)?

Also, does AutoKrafters only sell foam for high back buckets? This part number D1DZ-6560050 "looks" like a LDO seat and not a high back?

    Thanks....

The only foam that's close to what was use on Mavericks would be the 71-73 bucket seat foam, which would work for the 71-72 Maverick buckets. I don't think any other Mustang seats were even close. Most interior shops can rebuild your factory foam.

Was doing some Internet searching, ran into this. Sure "looks" like what I need, but I don't know the dimensions....

Also, is there a difference I need to be aware of regarding which year these seats are from? The car is a '76, but the previous owner put these seats in, and I have no idea what year car they came from (he only said they were from a Comet)...

I haven't bought them yet, and just remembered seeing several different shapes in the catalog. I figured he would be a good starting point if he didn't what you were looking for.

For what it's worth the factory buckets in my '76 Comet look almost exactly like that - slightly different pattern in the seat back. My guess is they came out of a 76-77 Comet based on what I have seen.*
