Which tranny,comes stock in a 73'maverick.......with a 2006cyl?

    I need to know if i have a c4,in my mav.,already?if so,i want to change the bellhousing,to bolt up to a 302.......is it possible?

    70 mav, 71 grabber, 73 Comet, 2004 f-250 crew cab diesel, 2001 f-250, 2004 explorer, 2007 Gold Wing trike.
    It should be a c-4. You'll need to change the bellhousing. A 250 one would match up. But not a 200. Also if the 302 has any HP you might want to get it beefed up a bit.:)

    The C4 used with the 200 inch engine doesn't have as many clutches as the 250 and V-8 C4s. If you are going to use the C4 from the 200 inch motor then at least add a TransGo 40-2 shift kit and a big cooler. If you are building the 302 for extra HP then you should find a C4 made for the larger six or the 302 and use the same shift kit and cooler.
