    I'm just wondering who on this board or any other has owned their Maverick or Comet the longest? If you bought it new, what year did you buy it? Did you buy it off the lot or order it as you wanted it (colour, type, Grabber, GT, etc,etc,etc) Who has had their car the longest?

    I'll start-

    Bought my Comet in 1993 off a little old lady (Mrs. White) 16 YEARS (y)

    Probably Mavaholic... He bought his '72 Sprint brand new.

    I've only owned one of these cars since 2005. Been around them my whole life though.

    Ive had mine since 2004 i think i cant even remember lol. its been in my family since 94. My dad owned a 73 along with my 75.

    I have had a Maverick or a Comet since 1990, and i also have been around them most of my life. Starting with my Mom's Comet way back in the seventies. mom_s_comet_first_picture_bigger_original.jpg

    umm... i think i've had mine a year and a half... if that long... and i didn't even know what they were till i got mine, so i think i lose. lol

    I bought my green one in 1992 ... I am the second owner.
    It had 70K miles on it and now has 160K.

    Owned the white one from 1980 until 1986.

    I was "Comet-less" for 6 years, and when I got the green one it was "for old times sake" and felt that it had been a long time without.
    Now that I look at the math ... I have had Comets for 23 out of the past 29 years ... those 6 years in between was just a hiccup... :D

    I've had Mavericks for many years.
    I bought a '71 Grabber a little less than a year ago from the original owner. She ordered it new in '71. I think it's cool when people hold onto their cars that long! :thumbs2:
    Another case: I talked to a woman in Tulsa a few weeks ago who also has a '71 Grabber. She bought it new too. It had 470K miles!

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    I have a 71 Grabber I bought in Dec of 1974, so it will be 35 years for me this coming December. Still not as long as Mavaholic though. :)
