I know alot of people just chuck the factory air cleaner and put on an aftermarket but i'm curious who still has their original one and if they redid it to make it look show quality. Mine was in bad shape when I bought the car some idiot painted over the Ford Blue and dirt set in on top of that I scraped off most of it and made the Ford Blue somewhat come back out but now of course I have scratches on it and I touch it up and make it look really nice, don't know what type of paint to use, etc. I have an Air Cleaner Decal that I wanted to put on but I didn't wanna put it on an ugly air cleaner, so I thought I would repaint it, i'd post a pic if I had one. I could go K&N but since I still have my six I figured i'd just keep the factory air cleaner and make it look nice.

Back in the old days there wasent money to buy trick air cleaners. What my friends and I always did was cut the stock one the same diameter as the air filter. That way the whole filter was exposed and you could still buy a stock filter for replacement. Just need a saber saw with a metal blade.

You mean like this? This is Eastwood Ford Blue .... Some of the other brands of Ford Blue spray cans are actually way brighter and lighter blue than factory.

I'm not much for red, but that really looks great!! The contrast just looks awsome.

I wanted to keep my original and just chrome-plate the lid, but it won't fit my Holley...

It is a 4V air cleaner off a Torino or something ... it fit perfectly on my Edlelbrock 600 carb ... Using a stock FRAM air filter ...

Not sure if a 2V air cleaner would have fit or not ..
