Article from recent Muscle Car Review about the possible Hubert Platt Boss 429 Maverick being found..................interesting!
I had a chance to put a 429 sc jet in mine back in 1985 out of a 70 t bird. Got talked out of it. . Then in 1987 I was offered a 1973 351c out of a torino. So I bought the car for 75.00 , Got talked out of that one to. So now I do as I want to . Older an my own person. Cant live in the past no more.
wow.. seen them almost everything else through the years.. but never seen an SCJ swap in a T-Bird before. Talk about sleepers. lol In the link above.. Boss320maverick says "it's sam auxiers car". I hope they put it all back together some day.
That is exactly why I am building mine "my way" - I had a speed shop owner talk me out of putting a Verti-Gate in line 4 speed shifter in a Duster back in the 70's and I still regret not doing it so the first thing I bought for my Maverick was a Hurst V-Gate shifter
I too, read this article and was stunned! Shock towers appear "caved" or "bowed" to accommodate the motor. Incredible! There can be only one...
I don't think that car is the same car that Bigwindowjim has, the car jim owns has the floor cut out and a alston chassis under, the Hubert platt car appears more original. I think they are two different cars. that would cool if its the original ford drag team car
