I'm putting aje k-member with struts and I want to notch the towers for header clearance. But I don't no who makes the kit?? Can sombody tell me who makes them so I can buy a set THANK YOU!!!
I also made my templates from cardboard and then transferred them to steel. You're going to find that you can be a lot more aggressive than a "stock" notching with an AJE kit.
-You do get header clearance with the AJE swap, which is what the original poster referenced. Here's an example of someone who swapped to the AJE posted on facebook. I don't particularly like this style, but you get the general idea. The upper mount location of the tower stays the same unless you do some custom geometry.
That's what @Msandmboy said he is installing so that is what I'm referencing. With the AJE Colt 65 kit, the upper and lower control arm stock locations are removed. The new control arms bolt to the k-member and the AJE provided coil-overs mount to a custom caster-camber plate that is located where the upper coil spring saddle / shock cup used to sit.
My bad. A lot of people now are now calling shocks "STRUTS" when we know struts on a Maverick ties the lower control arm to the frame
Thanks guys for the pictures and the helpful info.. I will use these pictures for ideas when I do my lines and templats
