Was wondering if their just a figment of imagination or if the Original 1969 Maverick ( the one with the key cylinder on the dash) really exists... Anybody have pics or stories?

They are titled as a 1970 though. There are plenty on here. I for one have one of them.

My first project had the key on dash and the steering wheel with the metal horn ring.

I have one, drove it for a couple of months a few years ago. Solid car, but it's been hit in the back pretty hard and not repaired properly, so I'm using it for parts. Have the opportunity to buy another one right now that's real straight and rust free.. may go look at it this weekend.

My son and I just completed a 5 lug disk brake swap on his 69 1/2. Drove it home tonight for the first time.

There are also some Canadians that have scored a 69.5 from Washington state as-well.

The OP's screen name got me wondering, were there any 69-1/2 more doors?

No, there were only 2 doors in 69.5 and 70. Also they were only offered with a I6, no V8s. I hunted for mine for a long long time. It is my daily driver.
