I saw an under hood shot of a Mav on here that had a flat piece of sheet welded in place of the apron side. I think it was the drivers side but maybe it was both. At any rate, it looked slick and I was wondering if whoever did it cut out the existing panel or welded the new panel over it. I would rather cut the old panel out to avoid creating a dead space to catch moisture, dirt, crap etc... but I wonder about the structural integrity, especially where the shock tower joins the apron.

Anyone want to claim ownership of this mod and give me some pointers?

    Thanks

Hah! Theres the Mav(sorta :D ) I was thinking of! Thanks! I think I am going to go with steel cuz its cheaper and I can weld it in permanently. I think I will just leave the old panel in there too. Shouldnt hurt anything as long as there is no way for it to trap dirt/moisture.
