I was just wondering who has a 347 stroker in their Mav or Comet. I am in the process of ordering mine and would just like some input/good and bad about their motors. What can I expect for gas mileage when I keep my foot out of it. Any for sure things that I should have done when it is built.

I will have it built by Woody at Fordstrokers so I know it will be built right.

I assume you are putting it in a roller block or converting it to a roller cam? Sounds like you want it to be a driver so I would do that if you weren't already. I never bothered figuring mileage on mine.

I also have a 347. Have no clue about mileage but it's not that great. Never checked it and don't really care what it is. When I drive that car I can't KEEP my foot out of it so who knows? It's the most fun I have ever had driving a Maverick. (y)

Some measure MPG. I measure FPG. Fun per gallon and all I got is a 302.

I had one until I broke it. :( On the highway doing 70 mph I got about 20-21 mpg, with my 302 I get 23 mpg. This is with 3.89 gears and a T5.
