Where are you injection guys running your fuel return line at? im tryin to find the best spot on the gas tank. pics would be appreciated
I plan to just have a bung welded into the filler neck. I got an inertia switch off a '95 Crown Vic that will be wired to the fuel pump relay so that, god forbid, I should ever get rear ended bad enough, it'll stop the fuel pump immediately and not fill the trunk with gas...
Yea a lotta people do that....but i think id rather keep all the fuel under the car than inside the trunk, im just wandering if gas tanks can even be welded on? id like to just have a tube welded onto the tank somewhere.
I drilled a hole in the side of the tank, put one of those trans drain fittings in there with a 90 degree fitting and attached braided hose to it. Simple and cheap. As I recall, it was a bitch getting my arm inside the tank to tighten the fitting but I got it done. My inertia switch is mounted in the trunk on the support brace like the factory installations.
Both are good ideas....i just gotta figure out wich way too go....can tanks be welded or are they too thin?
<-- Return line ran parallel to feed line on the way to a JIC fitting going into the top of the fuel cell.
You can weld on a gas tank with no problem. If you use the cannister vent line, I would think you would either need to use a vented gas cap or add another vent to the top of the tank.
well on my tank where the line goes it had a kind of a filter/breather black round plastic thing, anyways i took all that crap off so the fuel would flow with no restrictions and it's working fine for me!
