Ive been looking around and moving money aside to pick up some rims. However, I would like to know what the widest rim set i can go. I also want to offset around -44 to get that "deep dish" look. rear-end will be made to fit rims.

I DO NOT want to tub the car. I don't mind rolling fenders a bit to accommodate a bit.

What the biggest I can stuffed into the back of the wheel wells.

I will be doing a front fender apron outside of the fenders to allow a wide tire to turn properly. Another member here did it.

the leaf springs limit the inside so as wide as you want to the outside. I would think 10" with a tall tire with just a lip roll.

This is a M/T Sportsman Pro 29/12.50x15 on an 11" wide wheel with 4" backspace (if I remember correctly) mounted on a custom width rearend. The tires clear the leaf springs by 1/2" on each side. The next area of concern is the inner wheelwell at the front edge. The tire is also close to the inner wheelwell at the front edge as it is to the springs. That can be dimpled in towards the interior. You will also probably need to remove your bump stop or it will contact the inner sidewall if you get it tucked under there all the way.

My tires stick out of the body 1.75" on each side. It's perfect for the theme I'm going for (1970 NHRA Pro Stock rule book) but for a daily driver they are too wide. You would also have to raise the car a bit to do this. A 29" tall tire also requires some work at the front and rear of the wheelwell that I have not yet done.

Not practical for a daily driver.

I am not going to be using leafs, I will be doing a 4link coil over rear end.

I also would like to keep the tire inside the well

Look at the front inner wheelwell, that will be your limiting point if you don't use leafs. That and the bump stop.

I had to remove the bump stop to clear my 255/60/15 tire on a 8" rim with 4.25 back space... The rim is actually a 4.50 BS, I had to use a .25 spacer that gives me about .50 clearance off my springs...

are you getting your rearend set up from chris alstons chassis works?

I went there the other day with my comet and they set me up with a 4link coil over set up but with a back half so the only fabrication that needs to be done to the car is the shock mounts need to be rebuilt. atleast by the looks of it. and I could squeeze the back seat a little to fit wider wheels

what style of 4 link are you doing?
if you doing a back half you should be doing new tubs anyways. all you would have to do is to decide on how narrow the new frame rails are .

With leaf springs gone you can also run a deeper offset rim. The next thing that the inside of the tire would touch is the inside surface of the wheel well :)
