I love the way the grabber decals are. Especially in the hood, like in this picture:

I really want it in black on my 70 but just want to know if any one has done this, or if it will even match decently with the grooves. If you have done it I'd like to see a picture. Thanks.

Oh, if anyone has any other suggestions that'd be great too.

Use the '70 Grabber decals. They fit a flat hood, as the Grabber hood was only for '71 and '72 models.

Thanks. I guess my real question is, will the decal made for the scooped hood work on a regular hood? I dont have scoops on my hood. Ive never worked with decals and want to make sure I dont make any major mistakes. Thanks for the help guys.

The 71-72 grabber hood has a different shape from a flat hood. The molded in creases on the flat hood taper making the center portion narrower at the front. The grabber hood decal would most likely be too wide at the front. Possibly narrow at the back. It wouldn't look nice at all. Stick with the flat hood decals. If you really must have the 71-72 style decal, you really should save some money and get the grabber hood that goes with it.

This site has Authentic Ford stripes which may be important to you. Again, as others have said--use the stripe for the year of your car and you will be fine. If you end up putting a 71-72 scooped hood then go with that hood stripe. If you don't it will not sit correctly on your flat hood.
Good luck and remember to show us your end results--makes this site all the more fun to be a part of. :drive:

Take the picture in to a local decal shop and see if they can reproduce it but modified to follow the lines of your hood. You might be surprised what they can do and for how much. I can see why you would want it, the 70 stripes (no offfense to those that have/like them) look too much like run of the mill "ralley" stripes.

The 70 Grabber hood stripes are painted on - not a decal.

I'd get the 73-75 Grabber hood decals from Phoenix Graphix.
