I've read thru some old threads but was wondering if anyone had a current known good source for clips that actually work?

The older threads link to dead ebay links and part numbers for parts stores that are no longer good.

The local shops aren't much help. Since I'll have to order them, I'd rather not go thru trial and error.

My car is an early 70 but not a 69.5. The side clips are red and I saved most of them, but maybe it's in my head but the top and bottom clips look black. They all broke in removal.

I'm gonna clean up the clips I removed tonight to inspect them better, but the side ones are red and they've never been off the car. I'm also wondering of the colors of the clips even means anything anymore (as in current replacements). I'm sure it did back then at the factory then.

Here's some I see on ebay

These say 69 and up Fords. The ones listed for a Maverick in another auction look nothing like mine.

Looked at them again at lunch. The sides are red clips and the bottom and top are black. The black ones appear to be a little taller but that could be from distortion in removal. I'll get them cleaned up and check again later.

ALL of mine were black. Front, back, everything:huh:

I think someone may have been there before me, but it doesn't make sense with only 19,000 on it when I got it. I do believe someone did something, because the outer-most right clip on the bottom of the front window was riveted into the body, indicating someone broke the 'nib' off.

Maybe I can save a few off the 75 Comet I'm taking the windshield out of for this car. But I have a feeling they might be a little different either because of the year or since it has a vinyl top.

I also ordered some D1AZ-6542413-B replacements to see if they will work.

I bought some from autokrafters. the worked on the rear but im having problems with the front trim along the bottom, they are to long and would not snap in to the tab. right now im using double sided trim tape to hold it down until i find some ones that will work
