windshield wipers

    hey everyone my windshield wipers just stopped working. i could hesar the motor on the wipers but the wipers dont work... any ideas???

    maybe the...nut...came loose on the arm that drives the wipers ...:yup:

    yeah the wipers move by hand with the switch off...

    I'm with Frank on this one. Sounds like the arm is loose from the motor to linkage. If the nut backs off it can strip the splines or round it off(if it's a double d). If it doesn't move at all and the motor runs, the gearbox could be broken inside the motor itself.

    I agree. It's either the arm on the motor loose from the linkage, or the gearbox on the motor is stripped out. Only one way to find out... I sure am glad all I'm doing is installing a Windsor in my car in the next few days instead of what you're doing... :dizzy:
