HELP!! Our 74 maverick (still not running on the road yet) has some major problems. The car is a 74 while the engine (a 302 came) out of a 75 comet but the problem is that all the wires under the dash were cut and we can't get juice to the engine. We have tried different electronic ignetion modules ... no luck...We can start the car by running a hot wire direct to it but nothing from the key....TOTALLY FUSTREATED:mad:   Any sugestions??

    Thank's Mike

Coming from the ignition switch there should be a pink wire or black with pink stripe that goes to your coil +. This is a resistor wire that reduces working voltage at the coil to the proper voltage. If you can't find this wire you will need to add a resistor between the ignition switch and the coil. There is another wire in the harness that goes from the coil + to the starter solenoid "R" terminal. This is to supply the coil with battery voltage when cranking. It would be connected to the coil side of the resistor if you have to install a resistor (by-passing the resistor during starter cranking)
