1975 Maverick, inline 6... (NEW UPDATE) ... IT LIVES!!!! WHOOOT!
when i turn my key, it makes this low buzzing noise..... errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

its really lame... when i was replacing my transmission, my battery needed jumped everytime i wanted to turn it on...

then i replaced the tranny. put everything back. and it wont turn on even if i jump it now... and no lights, wipers, or anything unless hooked up to someone elses battery....then when i jump it, try to start it, just that low buzzing noise. thats all i get.....

so i took in the starter and the alternator to test them both...
starter worked, alternator failed. so i replaced the alternator and it still makes that noise...

please help. i'd really like to drive my car. lol

You may want to replace your battery cables and clean the current ones with a wire brush. I wire brushed my terminals and connectors and it worked like a charm until now, and I'm pretty sure it's the cables. I have the same problem.

A dying cell in the battery also will cause these symptoms. Try a good known battery and see if it fix the problem. A battery checker won't always see if a cell is dying...only a cell that is already dead. Make sure the cables are clean, sound and tight.

Yes indeed, my car was doing this the other day and a new battery cable and a good cleaning fixed it.
