Wont start with clutch in, will start with clutch not pushed in...

    '71 Comet, 3-speed manual. Will start when clutch is not pushed in, wont start when I push the clutch in. What the heck???

    The switch may be adjusted improperly.

    The clutch might be installed upside down. That or the pedals are in backwards.
