I know I'm a long way from installing new seats, but I have a chance at a free pair of seats, and I have to decide within a week if I want them. They are the wrong color, but that can be dealt with later. And just because I get them doesn't mean I have to use them when the time comes, right? So here's my question: Will bucket seats from a 1979 Ford Fairmont fit in my 72 two-door Maverick, or should I just let them get away? They are in my dad's barn, and it's about to get emptied out. Should I grab these seats and put them in the shop until I see if I need them or should I not bother? No use getting them if I can't use them. He SAYS he has the rails too. That remains to be seen. I haven't been able to find a list anywhere of what fits and what doesn't, and I don't want to let them get away if they are useful. Thanks for any info. Jean
As a friend of mine always says...a torch and welder can make damn near anything fit into damn near anything. Get the seats and work the fitment out later. Earl
pics.... I will be back out there tomorrow, and I'll take my digital camera with me. I need to get some pictures of ethel in the field. She's moving this weekend. Jean
Earl, I heard something similar, and that is "a blue tip wrench in the right hands can do wonders". Read "blue tip wrench" as torch.
