You know what I really hate? It's buying parts I won't use! I get these ideas in my head , start gathering all the parts I need for what I want to do , then I sit down and look at the big picture , and decide that I'm better off to quit now, save the money and just continue what I had started to do in the first place before I changed my mind. I know it's hard to understand.
Dave,,,, You arent the Only one,,,,I have crap for about 20 diferant projects,, and some times forget what is for what,,, then wonder what the heck was I thinking,, or some thineg better comes along and the back burner gets a little crowded,,,,Lmao
Dave, your not alone. The longer the restoration takes the more you change your mind. I have some parts that I have restored that I am no longer going to use. I would sell them but I could not get the money out of all the time I have in them.
Yeah, I know what that is like. I have a project I bought the parts for over 2yrs ago, and now that I want to finish it, I have lost the parts in a move. Oh, well, back to the drawing board!
Sounds like me buying all the stuff to go EFI, then buying a carb and intake, then not wanting that intake because I want the air gap. Or buying the serp belt brackets and pullies, and deciding to go V belt instead... I just chalk it up to part of the fun of building a car. Just save the stuff for the next mav and you'll already be parts ahead. At least thats what I tell myself.
You'd really hate me then! I gotta go before I cry,,, just wish I could sell stuff,,, nah,, I'll use it! Niece an Nephew are gonna hate me someday! My will states,,, "NO CAR STUFF JUNKED, USE IT OR SELL IT" They may amazed how much Uncle David's junk is worth! They don't do the car thing at all
I have a re-built 2v carb with 300 miles on it. now I have a 4v carb anmd intake waiting to go on. I still have all the old broken or junk parts i've replaced. Drum spindles, old exhaust pipes and holey muffler. Old drum brakes and spindles. 2 beel houseing that don't fit
I have never bought parts I didn't use...even those heads I ported and ate into the water jackets...they are in the attic helping to hold the roof on in case of a hurricane
