Well I've been searching and I can't find much on a turbo kit for a 302 in a Mav. I don't want to start a debate on what's better turbo or supercharger ( and simply I can't afford the SC) like I kinda wanna know should I trust a kit off eBay or should I look at a certain brand or website. Help please...
Turbo charger will make more power or even same with less boost...also no worrry about belt slippage past certain psi a gt45 y2k china turbo are built like a tank a magnum power brand turbo or BW brand turbo are also great options get something around 67mm
http://www.agpturbo.com/borg-warner-s463-s400sx4-t6-169012/ they have a slightly bigger one for same price 69mm these are american made t6 usualy vedt for single v8s but the gt45 t4 would be just as good for less...cant hurt to have it rebalanced by a shop though...thats what kills the china turbos. .high boost with compressor out of balance..
As far as a kit nobody makes one that will fit a maverick custom is the only way. I'm pretty happy with my magnum t70.
Okay thank you guys I've been looking for different options and I figured someone on here has to know something.
Good brand blowoff valve and external wastegates would be tial and turbosmart a catchcan will be ideal too http://www.saikoumichi.com/
Blow through carb and pump gas. I have a holly double pumper on the 302 now I'm trying to decide if I want to mod that or buy a demon blow through carb
buying a actual blow through carb will be way easier for tuning, it'll actually run better idling for sure & can handle higher psi. most blow through carb companys will even build them to your motor specs and you bolt em on and go. the jetting is usually pretty deadly too. i'm starting to build my turbo set-up soon as ive bought most parts already. i went with a QuickFuel blow through carb. was a few hundred less then another brand i ws looking at...and when it comes to turbo's and wastegates, don't cheap out..you could end up with a boat anchor instead of a motor. only issue i see having with mine after i build the headers/piping is trying to get rid of the high crankcase pressures ill probably have, otherwise things will go well. just remember when buying parts, things are cheap for a reason. tons of info on turbobullet as well.
