I'm tired of people calling my Maverick rack and pinion a"Mustang II" frontend...LOL

I'm going to pull everything and have the parts that are not powdercoated coated. the weather is suppose to be in the 60s Sat-Sun.
while it's down I will move the motor 1/2" forward, and 1/2" down. to do that the motor and transmission will have to come out. with that I'm sure it will turn into some motor parts being powdercoated...:yup:

when I start I will move this to the "project forum".

Mustang II is just so much easier to say, and everyone knows what we are talking about.

I refuse to say "Mustang II type" or "Rack and Pinion".

In fact, I prefer M2 over all the others.

How much are you removing? All but the crossmember?

What method are you using to pull your Mustang II cross member out of your Maverick - maybe a chain and a come along to a tree will get that suckka out of there :1st:

If his is installed as well as mine is, a tree and come-along will only hoist the car halfway up a tree...

The Rod & Custom site addresses it as " MII type suspension type". What do you suggest folks -- should call it?

And of course...you have tried to mount your M2 on several different models of cars, and can honestly say it ONLY fits on Mavericks and Comets...right???

Might fit on a 1988 Dodge Omni, and THEN what would you call it?

    Maverick/Comet/Omni rack and pinion?

Oh, and it fits a Hyundai Excel, 1986 model.

So now it is a Maverick/Comet/Omni/Hyundai Excel rack and pinion....???

    M2.

And I am sticking to it.:p

Why are you moving 1/2 forward and 1/2 down? Are you going to alter the engine bolt on mounts?
