I seriously doubt that, but point taken.

 

I have a seven year old nephew that loves to peruse the site with me when he comes to visit, loves the car and likes looking at them on this site.

 

Well he's definitely a rarity. Most kids that age are playing video games, and are not into cars, and when they do get interested in cars, it's Japanese compact cars.

About 9 months ago there was a concourse mustang event locally. Me being the type of guy I am drove in and parked between a 68 coupe and a 69 boss, promptly got out and walked away. 5 mins later went back towards my maverick to see about 20 people gathered around chatting between themselves. I didn't go and talk to them, but I bet there was both positive and negative comments being passed around. Needless to say I didn't enter into the judging side of things!

 

I get thumbs up for my 66 Mustang and the Maverick even though it's a six banger. Point is, we are attempting to preserve what was once common place on American roadways and else where. Most people out there wouldn't know where to start restoring or modifying a car or anything for that matter. Heck, they probably can't change their own oil. If the :S*** ever hits the fan one day, I want all of you on my team. If you can utilize your hands and mind to create in the manner we do, than it's obvious we have a higher IQ than most. That's my observation/

Wait till they actually start working on these cars, that'll teach them how to cuss...

 

My 6 and 9 year-old kids often sit on my lap while I'm on the site. They like looking at the cars and trying to see who can spot MY car first when it shows up in my signature. This is one of the sites I don't have to worry about them looking at. Youtube... that's a different story! LOL

ya, my comet is not in the best of shape paint wise, but it always turns heads when im driving or sitting at a light. especially when its loping at the red light

 

why would you junk a classic car if its in good shape. most classic cars on the road are in better shape, and better taken care of then a newer car. also keeping a classic car on the road is one of the best ways to keep recycling. the amount of energy and resources to create a new vehicle is enormous when you look that the average person changes cars every 5 years. ive had my 66 impala for 15 years. and my 74 comet for 5 years. and the comet, my mother had for 20 years before that. I drive an 08 ram that is converted to CNG. and my take is that a new car these days will never be around for 40 years. way too many plastic parts, substandard parts to go wrong.

 

True, restoring a modern vehicle with all it's electronic goodies(think drive by wire, electronic transmissions, clusters, touch screens etc) is going to be a nightmare...
